Eva-Lena Bergström

Eva-Lena Bergström is a Department director at Nationalmuseum, Stockholm and since February 2013 she is also a PhD student in Museology at Umeå University, Sweden. Her PhD project deals with the temporary exhibitions at Nationalmuseum during the period 1866 – 2012, with special focus on the relation between the exhibition practice, the art historical discourse and the socio cultural ideas. She is part of the Working Committee for the Scandinavian Museum Association (Skandinaviska museiförbundet) and used to be a representative in the former national ALM (archives-libraries-museums) center steering group coordinating questions concerning digitalization of the Swedish national cultural heritage. She was a member of the OMC (Open Method of Coordination) working group of EU member states´ experts on the Mobility of Collections in the European Agenda for Culture 2007 – 2010, and 2011-2014. BA and MA in Art History and History of ideas and Science at Stockholm University and currently taking a PhD student research course in Digital history at Umeå University as part of her interest in Visual Culture and Digital humanities and other topics related to visualization and exhibition practice.
